Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder, usually caused by a bladder infection. It’s a common type of urinary tract infection (UTI), particularly in women. Recurrent cystitis occurs in 25% of women within 6 months after their first UTI and the rate increases in women with more than one prior UTI. Common symptoms of cystitis include pain when peeing, needing to pee more often than usual and pain low down in your tummy.
Antibiotics and NSAIDs like ibuprofen are common first-line treatments, as is keeping well-hydrated. Cannabidiol (CBD) could be an excellent adjunct or alternative to ibuprofen, so lower doses need to be taken, with far less damage to the kidneys.
